!Xu of the Caprivi
The !Xu were used as trackers by the SADF during the bushwar on the Namibian/Angoland border.

A Small forgotten group of !Xu or "Bushman", live in the West Caprivi area of Namibia. They were exploited during the South African occupation and neglected by the government of independent Namibia. They are by law not allowed to hunt and thus unable to survive in the traditional way as self-sufficient hunters. They are ill equipped to fit into today's society, as they lack formal training.

The story centers on this group who stayed behind when most of their families moved to South Africa after Namibia won independence. Today they eke out a living under extreme poverty far removed from the often inaccurate and romantic portrayal of the traditional hunter-gatherer societies of their ancestors.
